1. Our commitment

We want everyone to be able to use this website, including people who browse with a screen reader, navigate by keyboard alone, need larger text, prefer reduced motion, or find low-contrast text hard to read.

This is not a box-ticking exercise for us. We advise businesses on their legal obligations, and the Equality Act 2010 asks service providers to make reasonable adjustments. It would be a poor look to ask that of clients and not hold ourselves to it.

2. The standard we meet

This website aims to conform to WCAG 2.2 Level AA, the international standard used by UK public bodies and increasingly asked about in commercial procurement.

We believe the site now meets that standard, with the exceptions set out in section 4. We are saying "believe" deliberately: conformance has been verified by our own testing rather than an independent audit, and no automated tool catches everything.

3. What we have done

In September 2026 we reviewed the whole site and made the following changes.

  1. Keyboard access. The navigation menu and the Silva AI assistant can now both be opened and used with a keyboard alone. Previously neither could be, which meant anyone not using a mouse could not navigate the site on a phone or reach the assistant at all.
  2. Screen readers. Every page has a "skip to main content" link, a proper main landmark, and a heading structure that runs in order without skipping levels. Menus that are closed are now genuinely hidden rather than silently read out.
  3. Focus. Whatever you have selected with the keyboard is now clearly outlined, everywhere on the site.
  4. Colour contrast. Text, buttons and controls were adjusted to meet the AA contrast thresholds, in both the light and dark versions of the Silva AI pages.
  5. Text size. If you have set a larger default font size in your browser, the site now respects it. Before this change it ignored the setting entirely.
  6. Readability. Links inside body text are underlined rather than shown only in a different colour, article text is capped at a comfortable line length, and button labels are no longer set in capitals.
  7. Motion. If your device is set to reduce motion, animations do not play and nothing scrolls or rotates on its own. Where content does rotate automatically, there is now a pause button.

4. Known issues

We would rather tell you what is not right than claim the site is perfect.

  1. Embedded forms. Several forms on this site - the contact form, the international advice enquiry, the Discovery Day booking form, and the identity and terms pages - are provided by JotForm. We do not control their markup and cannot guarantee they meet AA. If you have difficulty with any form, email us and we will take the details however suits you.
  2. Third-party content. The newsletter sign-up is provided by Brevo. The same caveat applies.
  3. Documents. Some materials we send clients are PDFs produced for print. They are not part of this website, but if you need one in an accessible format, ask and we will provide it.
  4. Independent audit. The site has not been audited by a third party or tested with a panel of disabled users. Our testing was thorough but it was our own.

5. How we tested

The September 2026 review covered all 87 pages of the site and included:

  1. A keyboard-only pass with no mouse, at phone and desktop widths.
  2. A contrast check on every piece of visible text against the background actually rendered behind it, on both the legal and Silva AI pages, and in both the light and dark modes of the Silva AI arm.
  3. Confirming the site scales correctly when the browser's default font size is increased, and reflows without horizontal scrolling down to a 320 pixel screen and at 200% text size.
  4. Checking that page content still appears with JavaScript switched off.
  5. A structural check of headings, landmarks, form labels, image alternatives and control names on every page.

6. Tell us about a problem

If something on this site does not work for you, we want to know. It is the fastest way for us to fix it, and we will not treat it as a complaint unless you want us to.

We aim to respond within five working days. If you need information from this site in another format, ask and we will provide it.
